I rarely make hummus because of that one time I added enough garlic that it burned your eyes when you open the fridge. But, I did learn the correct way to make hummus, thanks to my friend Jill!

First thing, cut the top off a garlic, place in a bowl made of foil and put it in the oven at 350 for about 15-20 minutes. That should make the insides a little translucent and smell awesome. Put a red bell pepper in there too.
Get two cans of garbanzo beans (chick peas) and put them in a large bowl of water, take the peels off the peas best you can or your hummus will have you farting.
In a food processor, add 2 Tbsp of Tahini sauce, the garbanzos and start the processor up. While its doing its thing, pause it every once in awhile and pour in a little olive oil.
Take the garlic and bell pepper out of the oven. When its safe enough to handle, pop a few of the cloves out of the garlic into the food processor and slice a nice fat slice of bell pepper off the roasted one and throw that in there too. Process it some more.
I have found that some tasty pitas can be bought at the $0.99 store. They go well with this hummus. Add salt and pepper to taste.
