Miguel Medel Ricarde

was my grandfather. I had the pleasure of meeting him but I cannot remember him. He died when I was six months old.
He was born October 29th, 1902 and I don’t know much about him. My mom has a picture of him that she gave me. I’ve been meaning to scan it in so I can post it.
My grandfather was an electrical engineer in the Philippines and he was married to Enriqueta Mojica.
They lived at 1255 Florentino Torres St. between the SLEX (S. Luzon Expressway) to the North East of them and G. Del Pilar to the South West of them, in Singalong, Metro Manila Philippines. See the center of this map, where the tree is. Unfortunately, we cannot zoom in closer in some areas of the Philippines using Google maps.
Miguel passed away on May 17th, 1974
Enriqueta Mojica

was my grandmother. We called her Lola. Her birthday is July 14th, 1923 and she was a Realtor in the Philippines.
She married Miguel and together they had 6 girls and 1 boy. Gloria, Mercedes, Teresita, Amparo, Edwardo, Corazon, and Evangeline.
I lived with Lola for about a year, not long after I was born, so that my mom could establish a residence and a steady job in Montreal. During that time, my Lolo (Miguel) passed away and instead of paying for our plane tickets, my mom paid for the funeral. That must have been hard. The choice of being helpful and not there or to be there and feel helpless.
Lola eventually came to live in Montreal in the 1980s, she went home to the Philippines for a few months in 1986-87. She came back but was much thinner.
Lola passed away in Montreal on April 4th, 1987 and her body was brought back to the Philippines so she could be buried with her husband Miguel.
